Ban Fracking in San Francisco - 350 SF meeting 11/18

An opportunity has come forward to really make an impact in the fight against fracking here in San Francisco. Local bans have proven to be an effective tool in slowing the industry and protecting our communities and the climate, but banning fracking in San Francisco would seem to be only symbolic. We don't appear to be in danger of fracking wells here in such a dense urban environment.

But the City and County of San Francisco has land that extends well beyond City boundaries, land acquired with our Tuolumne River/Hetch-Hethcy dam water rights. Banning Fracking on all City and County owned land, could really have an impact, both symbolically and practically. So lets make it happen! Lucky for us, the local organizing we've been doing around Divestment, Clean Power SF and Fracking, has earned us some political capital and some good connections. Its time to take advantage of this and launch a thoughtful, informed, dynamic grassroots campaign. See you Monday the 18th!
