Bay Area Youth Climate Justice Conference 3/11

baycawebpicture.pngThis free conference in Oakland March 11 is organized by and for high school students.  If you know any, please invite them!
As the Trump administration attacks people and the planet, and literally puts Big Oil in charge of our world, the resistance is building. We know that protecting people and fighting for justice is inextricably linked to finding another way to relate to our natural world. Young people are on the forefront of this fight for social and climate justice.
Come
to the Bay Area Youth Climate Justice Conference to learn more, find your inner activist, and take charge of your future!

Be prepared for a selection of inspiring speakers, youth-led workshops, and concrete actions you can take to fight for your community and your future. You will leave this conference with new friends, ideas, and a plan on what you will do to combat climate change and environmental justice issues in your school and community.
Keynote speaker Josh Healey of Movement Generation will be followed by a variety of youth led workshops on issues ranging from the climate's connection with militarization and police brutality - to adultism and climate change - to growing food and urban trees- to how to support the Water Protectors in defeating the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Enjoy free vegetarian lunch and the company of students from around the Bay Area.  This conference, called by BAYCA.org youth is sponsored by 350 Bay Area through a grant from the Entrekin Foundation.
