That's where we come in. As Bay Area activists, we can lend our strength to Measure Z to give the communities in Monterey a fighting chance against Chevron. And we haven't got a minute to lose, with deceptive Big Oil advertisements already making their way into voters' homes. So we're making phone calls, knocking on doors, raising money, and spreading the word.
Protect Monterey County is organizing FOUR canvassing weekends for Californians across the state to come to Monterey County, grab a clipboard, and get out the vote. Join us Oct. 1-2, Oct. 15-16, Oct. 22-23, and/or Oct. 29-30! We'll meet at 9 AM Saturday at Measure Z Salinas HQ, 521 S. Main St. (on the corner of John St.). They'll train you in the office and send you out to knock on doors, for however long you're able, and we'll meet again in the afternoon for phone banking and a tasty dinner with local volunteers. They'll provide a place to stay, and the next morning, we're at it again! This trip is adjustable based on your needs, including how much walking you can do, how comfortable you are talking to people, etc.
If you need help with carpools, let us know! We've already got people coming from the South Bay and Oakland.
See you there!
