Plan Bay Area 2040 is a transportation & land use roadmap for future growth, & it's the most important transportation policy opportunity we will have for the next several years. The plan is a joint effort of MTC, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, & ABAG, the Association of Bay Area Governments, & they are having Open Houses where members of the community can learn more about the plan & can make their voice heard. We will have a representative from the 350 Bay Area Transportation Campaign at the Marin County Open House. If you're interested in sustainable, just transportation this is a good time to jump in. Here are some questions we'll be asking:
- What authority does the MTC have to enforce Priority Development Area density?
- How will MTC meet its goal of 18% per capita GHG reduction?
- Can we fund sufficient transit options for the Priority Development Areas?
- Does MTC have plans to electrify transit?
- Can MTC push cities & counties to have electric fleets?
- Can MTC urge cities & counties to enforce that new multi-family dwellings will have electric plug-ins?
Please RSVP if you're interested in joining us, & we'll be in touch!
