SB 1132 Senators on the Fence

Here’s information about each senator:

Please call the below with possible exception of de Leon.  Ask for their staff person on environmental bills and say it is a policy issue if asked.  Tell them the Democratic Party has a moratorium in this year's platform that they are running on and the Resolution was passed by the Party over a year ago supporting a moratorium.

Kevin de Leon  -  LA  22nd Senate Dist – next to Mitchell’s   Tel: (916) 651-4022  Next Senate Pro Tem -  Chair Appropriations Com. And on Energy Committee, Utilities and Communications Committee, and Health Committee,  and on Select Com on Energy Efficiency - sees himself as advocate for public schools esp. in low income communities; says he is committed to improving air quality (in his district,  close to worst air quality in country)  He could be thanked actually as he voted yes on his Appropriations Com. so no longer uncommitted.

Ricardo Lara  - Long Beach  33rd Senate Dist.   Phone: (916) 651-4033  Appropriations Committee, Standing Committee of Natural Resources and Water, Climate Change and Implementation of AB 32 - first openly gay legislator of color.  Did not vote in Appropriations Com. so truly "uncommitted".  Fracking occurs off coast in Long Beach within his district.
