Stand Up for Solar at CPUC Meeting, 11/5

The California Public Utilities Commission(CPUC) is expected to make a decision on the program through which homeowners and businesses get paid for rooftop solar--net metering--sometime in November. Attend this meeting to show support for a strong program for rooftop solar!

The agenda for the meeting hasn't been released yet, but it's likely the rooftop solar proceeding(net metering) will be on it. Whether or not the topic is on the agenda, your presence at the meeting will make an impact. Update: please note, there will probably not be an opportunity for many people to speak during public comment, but a few solar advocates will be speaking, and your presence will support them.

Make sure you sign and share the petition in support of rooftop solar here.

Rooftop solar benefits ALL Californians by negating the need to build expensive, polluting generating plants and additional distribution infrastructure. It is not the purpose of the PUC to structure California to protect the outdated business model of the utility companies. Rather, the PUC should insist that the utilities reshape their business model to move California towards its official goals of clean energy. Attacking net metering and rooftop solar is not consistent with those goals.
